Question: Is Lead Surfing Inc. in MA a legitimate business opportunity?

I sent them a job application. Their website offers less information than most about their clients. They say they have ‘almost ten’, but don’t name any, which I found a little odd. I saw on Yahoo! Answers that Home Depot was their only client in May 2010 – have they actually expanded that much so soon? Also, do they offer full time jobs with benefits, or is it commission based sales?

Answer: It’s a sales, commission-based job, much like Vector Marketing. I’m guessing they’ll be having you go to different Home Depot stores in the area and sell whatever they’re trying to market. You’ll be facing very long days (most jobs of this type typically have 10-12 hour work days.. including Saturdays!) and you probably won’t make much money. Why are the days so long? These jobs are almost like a cult, since they want you to be involved with the company for basically the entire day. You’ll go in at 7am, have these strange “motivational” meetings for a few hours, and then you’ll hit the field. Finally you’ll come back around 5 or 6pm, have MORE meetings, and then you can at last leave.

I’d encourage you to give it a try if it still sounds good, but know what you’re in for!

One more thing: anything they tell you about positions “filling up really quickly!!” is just to give you a sense of urgency in hopes that you’ll take the interview. These companies hire new people by the boatload and ALWAYS have openings. You can probably figure out why at this point. lol
