Work At Home Hotel Jobs

work at home hotel jobs
Question: HELP!! Desperatly looking for work in Bergen Norway..?

I moved to Bergen from the UK and have been here 2 and half months now and STILL have no job!! I have finished a 6 week intensive norwegian class but dont speak enough to get a “proper” job. I dont have a university education or a trade and im worried as i know there is a 3 month time limit to stay?
I have tried all the agancies and they say because of the financial situation there are hardly any jobs for “foreigners” as the norwegians are out of work too. At home i worked as a hotel recpetionist and worked in Australia for 2 years in admin, PLEASE HELP! Any suggestions or connections will be soo appreciated! x

Answer: Hei, you emailed me before (about job help, and possibly meeting up), but you have emails blocked so I couldn’t reply. If you try again with an email address, I’ll happily respond.

Casa del Toro at Finnegaarden is currently hiring cooks, and a couple of the workers there speak mostly English. I think the kitchen manager is German and doesn’t speak much Norwegian. You would have to learn kitchen words and such, but it’s fairly easy. My boyfriend works nearby as a cook, and when he started he only had rudimentary Norwegian.

There’s also a company hiring tutors for business English, the only requirement being that you are a native English speaker.

Another option is to sign up with Bergen Kommune as a substitute barnehage teacher. The work isn’t fulltime, just when someone calls in sick, but it would at least give you something to start with.

The International Barnehage is also hiring, and English is used alongside Norwegian and other languages.

Mongstad is looking for firewatch, if you are willing to live away from Bergen part time and do shift work. I used to work at the refinery there (it’s about an hour and a half north of Bergen) on a project and met many of the people doing this job. It says you should have previous oil/gas experience, but none of the people I met did. You live there 3 weeks (Sundays free) all expenses paid, and then are off for a week. There aren’t many females, but the job is easy (walking around looking for fires) and the only real requirement is English.
